Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 6 October 2026

Detour has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion, and any content that sexualises minors. This page sets out our standards and how we enforce them.

Our standards

  1. Detour is for people aged 16 and over. Everyone confirms their date of birth at sign-up, and we refuse anyone under the minimum age. Accounts we learn belong to someone younger are deleted.
  2. Content that sexualises minors is prohibited, whether real, drawn or generated, as is any attempt to contact, groom, exploit or endanger a minor. This is set out in our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
  3. Detour is built around small private friend groups. You can only see people in parties you've joined with an invite code. Detour has no public profiles, no search for strangers, no public feed and no direct messages between users.
  4. Photos are uploaded through our servers. Their metadata, including location, is stripped, and they are shown only to the poster's party.

Reporting in the app

Anyone can report a photo or a person from inside the app. Tap the photo's menu, or the person on the party page, and choose report. Reports go directly to the Detour team, and the reporter's identity is never shown to the reported person or the party. When several people report the same photo, it is hidden automatically until reviewed.

You can also report concerns at any time by email: support@detourapp.eu. Write "Child safety" in the subject.

How we respond

Child safety contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety, CSAM prevention and practices, including enquiries from app stores and authorities:

Mihnea-Andrei Serbanescu, support@detourapp.eu

If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (112 in the EU) first.
